2 Anchors is a boutique gin brand from Grey Lynn in Tāmaki Makaurau. It was founded by Jenny Parr and shaped by the place she calls home. The harbour is close, the city is near, and that mix of land and sea sits quietly behind the bottle.
2Anchors
The concept of anchors refers to the people, values, or places that provide stability, grounding, and support, much like how an anchor keeps a ship from drifting. Founder Jenny and her partner Julia come from different worlds and balance each other well. The idea grew out of their bond and their life in the city of sails. Jenny created 2Anchors Limeys Gin to enjoy in a peaceful setting to provide an opportunity to pause, reflect, and find balance and connection.
How the recipe formed
Distilling began as a mindful craft for Jenny as a welcome distraction. Classes led to experiments, then to real trials with the copper pot still. Vapour runs were tested. Macerations were tried. After many small runs the recipe that felt right kept kaffir lime leaf and peel at the centre because lime lifts flavour and brings the gin to life.
Limeys today
Limeys is bright and refreshing with citrus up front and a gentle warmth that follows. It belongs at a table with friends, on a deck at sunset, or at a quiet lookout when the wind settles. Those are the moments this brand was made for.
